PhotoVoice is an independent, nonprofit organization specializing in providing photographic workshops around the world. Their work gives participants the skills to document their lives as only they can really know them.
The team decided to create a booklet to support this important work. Covering projects in Vietnam, Nepal, Congo and Afghanistan the team reached out to photographers Steve McCurry, Sebastiao Salgado and then UNICEF head Carol Bellamy for endorsements.
The distribution of thousands of copies of the booklet in the United States paved the way for mounting the Unbroken exhibit of work from PhotoVoice workshops around the world.
